I photograph gatherings of roughly 50 guests or fewer and serve Alaska exclusively, traveling throughout the state for weddings and elopements that are rooted in place and experience.

For couples who want to be legally married now and celebrate later.
This is a calm, simple alternative to the courthouse. We choose a quiet local location like Creamer’s Field, Chena Lake Recreation Area, or another peaceful in-town spot. You share your vows, sign your license, and we spend a few minutes afterward creating a small set of photographs that commemorate the moment.
Many couples choose this when they’re planning a larger celebration in the future and want the legal commitment to happen first. I’m also more than happy to sign as your witness if needed.

THE ADVENTURE ELOPEMENT
For couples who want their elopement to be their wedding.
We choose a place that feels personal to you, whether that’s a shoreline, a trail, a mountain turnout, or somewhere far beyond Fairbanks. Maybe that means a helicopter ride, a quiet spot in a national park, or even standing together on a glacier. There is time to travel, walk, and explore so the day unfolds naturally.
A small number of guests are welcome if you’d like, but the main focus stays on the two of you. I help with location planning, light and weather guidance, and can sign as your witness.

Do you help us choose a location for our wedding or elopement?
Yes. Location is a big part of the story of your day, and I’m happy to help guide that decision. Depending on the season and the experience you want, we might choose a mountain turnout, a quiet trail, a riverbank, or somewhere further out like Denali or the Alaska Range. I consider things like lighting, accessibility, weather patterns, and how private the area feels so the location truly fits your day.
Do we need a permit to get married in Alaska?
It depends on the location. Some public lands, including national parks and certain state recreation areas, may require permits for ceremonies or professional photography. If you are planning to elope somewhere like Denali National Park, I can help guide you through what may be required and point you in the right direction for permits.
Do we need witnesses to get married in Alaska?
Yes. Alaska requires one witness plus your officiant to sign your marriage license during the ceremony. If you are eloping privately and not bringing guests, don’t worry—witnesses can often be arranged and I’m happy to help guide you through that process.
We’re awkward in front of the camera. Is that okay?
Absolutely. Most couples say this before their wedding or elopement. My approach is relaxed and guided rather than overly posed. I’ll give you simple prompts and direction so you can focus on being together while I document the moments naturally.
Can we include family or friends at our elopement?
Of course. Many couples choose to bring a small group of loved ones to witness their ceremony. We can plan the timeline so you still have time for quiet moments together as well as time celebrating with family.
Do you travel outside of Fairbanks?
Yes. I photograph weddings and elopements throughout Interior Alaska and beyond. Travel within the Fairbanks area is included, while locations further away—such as Denali, remote lodges, or areas requiring significant driving—may have a travel fee depending on distance.
How long until we receive our photos?
Your full gallery will be delivered within 6-8 weeks. You’ll receive a curated online gallery where you can download your images, share them with loved ones, and order professional prints. I will also send you sneak peeks within 48 hours!
Can we elope on a glacier or take a helicopter somewhere remote?
Yes, many couples choose to incorporate helicopter flights or remote locations into their elopement day. Alaska has incredible opportunities for glacier landings and mountain access. If this is something you're interested in, I can help guide you toward local flight companies and help plan a timeline that allows time for the experience as well as photography.
Are there places we can’t access during certain seasons?
Yes. Alaska is very seasonal, and some roads, trails, and locations are only accessible during certain times of year. For example, snow conditions, road closures, or limited park access can affect where we are able to go. When planning your day, I help recommend locations that will be accessible and beautiful during the season you’re visiting.
What happens if the weather is bad?
Weather is part of the experience of Alaska, and I keep a close eye on forecasts leading up to your day. Light snow, wind, or overcast skies can add beautiful atmosphere to photographs, but if conditions become unsafe—such as severe wind, dangerous road conditions, or extreme cold—we will adjust the plan or timeline together.
I photograph outdoors year-round in Interior Alaska, but I do not shoot in temperatures colder than –20°F unless we have direct access to a warming space such as a cabin, vehicle, or indoor location. This helps prevent cold-weather injuries and ensures everyone stays comfortable throughout the experience.
