A new chapter in New York
After a few incredible years photographing love and life in Alaska, I’m heading east! This fall, I’ll be making Watertown, New York home and bringing my storytelling photography to Northern New York, the Thousand Islands, Adirondacks, Syracuse, and beyond.
My New York books will officially open in 2027, and I can’t wait to explore my new home and tell all the stories waiting for me there.

NOSTALGIC
WHIMSICAL & UNDONE
DEEPLY PERSONAL
storytelling photography
The way it felt,
not just the way
it looked.

The wind in your hair. Tiny hands reaching for yours. The way they make you laugh when you've forgotten there's a camera around. I photograph the movement, connection and beautifully imperfect moments that make your story yours. My nostalgic, film inspired approach gives you space to simply be in it.

ROOTED IN NORTHERN NEW YORK
There is something quietly magical about Northern New York. Cozy small towns, winding back roads, lake days, colorful autumns and winters spent tucked inside by the fire. It has that storybook, Gilmore Girls kind of charm while somehow still feeling like one of New York’s best kept secrets.
Based in Watertown, I photograph couples, families and intimate celebrations throughout the North Country, Thousand Islands, Lake Ontario and the Adirondacks. From quiet afternoons at home to windswept days along the St. Lawrence River, this corner of New York feels made for photographs that are nostalgic, personal and full of life.

Meet the artist
Hey, my name is Makenzie
Photographer, storyteller and professional romanticizer of ordinary life. I’m drawn to the things that make life feel a bit magical: old photographs, cozy bookstores, overgrown gardens, changing seasons and the kind of ordinary days you wish you could bottle up and keep.
When I’m not behind the camera, you’ll probably find me starting another creative project, wandering an antique shop, tending to my garden or curled up somewhere with a book. I believe the best photographs happen when you feel comfortable enough to forget about the camera and simply enjoy the people you love.
YOUR WEDDING SHOULD FEEL LIKE YOURS
Your wedding day isn’t a photoshoot. It’s a day you get to actually live. I’ll give you direction when you need it, then leave room for the laughter, happy tears, the people you love, and all the little in-between moments you never could have planned. Because the best photographs come from being present in your wedding, not performing for the camera.
ROMANTICIZE
THE LIFE YOU'RE LIVING
BECAUSE THESE ARE THE DAYS YOU'LL MISS SOMEDAY.
