Rachel & Matt’s Fairbanks Engagement Session at McCafferty’s Coffee House & Creamer’s Field

One of my favorite things about engagement sessions is when couples choose locations that hold real meaning for them. Rachel and Matt did just that when we started their session at McCafferty’s, a cozy local coffee shop here in Fairbanks. It’s not just any café to them - McCafferty’s is where they had their very first date, sitting together at the cutest little window table. It made the perfect spot to begin telling their engagement story!

The staff at McCafferty’s were incredibly kind and welcoming, making it easy for us to capture those intimate, everyday moments that feel natural and true. If you’ve never stopped in, it’s one of the coziest places in Fairbanks to grab a coffee, catch up with friends, or even relive a first date.

From there, we headed to one of my favorite photo spots in Fairbanks, Creamer’s Field. The wide-open fields, tree-lined paths, and soft light gave us the perfect setting to wrap up their session. It was one of those quintessential Alaska fall days - gloomy, a little rainy, and completely beautiful. The moody skies added such a romantic feel to their photos, creating images that feel cozy and timeless.

As if the session wasn’t already full of personality, we finished things off with their husky joining us for a few photos. Including pets always adds so much fun and authenticity! I love when couples bring along the four-legged family members who mean so much to them.

Rachel and Matt are tying the knot next fall on their anniversary in Colorado, and I couldn’t be happier for them. Their Fairbanks engagement session perfectly reflected who they are as a couple - fun, relaxed, and deeply connected.
