ABOUT
Raised in the American Southwest, Makenzie Hillegass is an artist who draws inspiration from the natural world around her and uses it to explore the relationship between oneself and their environment. In 2023 she will receive her BFA in photography from Arcadia University and is looking forward to pursuing her MFA shortly thereafter. Through the use of both analog and digital photography methods Makenzie explores themes related to the shared human experience and how that manifests in the physical world. Throughout her work she often grapples with the idea of loneliness and the persistence of time through both a historical and contemporary lens.
Currently, Makenzie is living and working in Philadelphia as she finishes her BFA. Following her graduation from Arcadia University Makenzie plans on relocating to Tucson, Arizona.
